An Interview With Richard Gasquet

2002 US Open
Date: 2002-09-07
Gasquet def. Henry 3-6, 7-6, 6-4

Question How do you feel about your match today? What went well? How did you turn it around after that?
Answer My opponent has played very good. He won 6-3, so 6-3, 5-4. I can't win this match. At 5-4, he played bad, yeah. He was scared, and I won.

Question Compared to the French Open Juniors, was there a lot more attention around you because you are French and you had been in the main draw also?
Answer Yes. There were more attention in Roland Garros, but it's normal because here it is in United States.

Question You were down two matchpoints. What were you thinking when you were down matchpoint?
Answer I believe that I lost because he played very good. I was lucky.

Question You played attacking shots. You hit a forehand and a backhand shot.
Answer Yeah, I was lucky.

Question You were lucky?
Answer Yeah.

Question You didn't wait for him to attack.
Answer Yes.
